  • What does the PA stand for in AAHPA?

    PA stands for "professional association". This designates that the business is a corporation

  • What is the history behind AAHPA?

  • How do I get to the hospital?

    From I-70 take exit #275 (Abilene/Clay Center) and go south at the end of the exit ramp. Continue to the second stop light. This is NE 14th Street. Turn left at the light. Our hospital is 3 blocks east of the light on the south side of the road

  • How long are you open?

    We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am-5:30 pm and Saturdays 8 am-12 pm

  • Do you offer payment plans?

    Payment is expected at the time of service. 

    However, we understand that emergencies can happen unexpectedly. We offer our clients CareCredit and Scratchpay as payment options to help manage those expenses. You can get more information here

  • Looks like a great place to work! Where do I get an application?

    Applications can be picked up in person at our office, or mailed to you by request. All applications should include a cover letter. If you would like more information about job opportunities at AAH, please contact us

  • What about externships?

    We do offer some externships! Please contact our office for more information

  • I'm a new client! What can I expect when I arrive?

    Please go here to learn what you can expect from us when you arrive at our hospital. Please make sure to have your pet on a leash or in a carrier!

  • When I arrive, which entrance do I use?

    Keep an eye out for the signs when you approach the building! You will find signs directing you to our small and large (livestock and equine) animal entrances.


    The large animal entrance is down a few steps. Please feel free to come in the small animal entrance if stairs are not an option for you

    Do I have to have an appointment?

    We prefer appointments so that we can be sure a veterinarian is available to see you and your pet

  • Do you take stray dogs or cats? Or animals I want to re-home?

    No, we do not. Please call your local police department if you find a stray dog. But we are the holding facility for stray dogs if you are missing one! You can find out what all this means here

  • What services do you offer?

    We are a full service small and large animal hospital offering routine and specialized services for your animal's needs. You can visit this page for large animal services, and this page for small animal services. If you don't see the specific service you are looking for, please contact us and we can let you know if we offer that service

  • Do you offer nail trims?

    YES, we do

  • Do you offer after-hour emergency services?

    Please call our office at 785-263-2301 if you have an after-hour emergency to be directed to the nearest emergency hospital
