![]() Gale with "Stormee" | Gale Rock Gale manages inventory and accounting and has been a member of the team for over 23 years. She is in charge of the Abilene VetMeds membership program, a medicine supply program for farms. Gale attends educational seminars on inventory management and has been our senior inventory control manager for many years. In addition, her versatility allows her to step in as surgical assistant and animal care technician when the need arises. | |
| Shelli Gugler, RVT Shelli Gugler joined the AAH staff in 1987 upon completion of her degree as a Veterinary Technican from Colby Community College. In addition to her laboratory and primary animal care responsibilities, Shelli is our surgical and anesthetic technician. She has received advanced training in canine semen analysis and frozen semen technology. In addition to these interests, Shelli has developed our dentistry program, and directs the dental procedures and program. | ![]() Shelli with "Ewok" | |
![]() Susan with "Lucy" | Susan Morton Susan is a veterinary assistant with 10 years experience, supporting the companion animal and greyhoud veterinarians. In addition to her responsibilities as a general and surgical assistant, Susan is the resident groomer and organizes our stray placement and adoption program. Working in conjuction with local law enforcement Susan is the primary person involved in returning stray dogs to their owners, or finding prospective owners for those in need of a good home. | |
| AJ Jones AJ earned a BS in Microbiology from Kansas State University with skills in laboratory diagnostic procedures. Additionally she has special interest in animal behavior and exotic animals. Currently her primary responsibilities include inventory management, public health concerns, wildlife rehabilitation, and behavior/obedience counseling as well as animal training. She is the primary receptionist for the swine department, and manages large animal laboratory samples including bacteriology. | ![]() | |
![]() Joyce and "Daryl" | Joyce Webb Joyce has a special interest in horses and is the primary large animal assistant. She manages the equine and bovine treatment and care facilities. Joyce and her husband own both cattle and horses, giving her hands-on experience and knowledge at the level of producer which allows her to address client issues with an understanding of their farm management concerns. | |
| Dianna Pedersen Dianna is the telecommunications operator as well as small animal receptionist. She joined the Abilene Animal Hospital staff with 10 years experience in the human medical field and transitioned to veterinary medicine with ease! ![]() | Silke Propst Silke joined our reception staff after a long relationship as a loyal small animal client. Silke came to the United States from Germany in 1994 and recently passed her naturalization exam to become a permenant U.S. citizen. Prior to joining the AAH team Silke worked in human health care as a nurses aide. Silke's role in telecommunications and reception put her in a key role to providing the best in client service and patient care. | |
| Dawn Gabel Dawn joined our staff in 2002 as a part-time kennel manager and quickly became a full-time asset to our hospital team. In addition to her responsibilities as kennel manager, Dawn also manages and coordinates the scheduling of our part-time staff members, works with law enforcement to assist in our stray placement program, and has become an integral part in our pre-operative and anesthetic assistance team. | ![]() Dawn with "Mac", "Mississippi", and "Maggie" | |
![]() Brandi with "Squirt", "Rory", and "Azlynn" | Brandi Allen Brandi started with AAH as a volunteer while attending undergraduate courses at KSU-Salina. She accepted a part-time position as receptionist and assistant office manager prior to completing her college degree. She has a BS from KSU in animal science and joined our full time AAH team as an assistant office manager in 2006. In addition to her management duties she is also responsible for assisting Gale with our Abilene VetMeds program and assists in reception and the treatment area when necessary. | |
These are some of the individuals who play a vital role in maintaining the high quality of our patient care and client service. Without this committed and dedicated support staff our hospital would not be able to provide services that meet client expectations.
