Gale Rock Gale Rock

Gale has been a member of the AAH team since 1979.  Hired at that time as a kennel technician, groomer and small animal assistant.  Over the years AAH has allowed Gale to explore other avenues of the business.  She is currently in charge of the Abilene VetMeds membership program, a medicine supply program for farms.  She enjoys talking with the Abilene VetMeds clients making sure that orders are filled and delivered on schedule.   Her other duties include accounts payable, purchasing and backing up Joyce Webb as large animal assistant when needed.


Shelli Gugler, CVT Shelli Gugler, CVT

Shelli Gugler joined the AAH staff in 1987 upon completion of her degree as a Veterinary Technican from Colby Community College. In addition to her laboratory and primary animal care responsibilities, Shelli is a surgical and anesthetic technician. She has received advanced training in canine semen analysis and frozen semen technology. In addition to these interests, Shelli has developed our dentistry program, and directs the dental procedures and program.


AJ Jones AJ Jones

AJ earned a BS in Biology from Kansas State University with skills in laboratory diagnostic procedures. She has special interest in animal behavior and exotic animals. Currently her primary responsibilities include inventory management, public health concerns, export, wildlife rehabilitation, and behavior/obedience counseling as well as animal training. She is the primary receptionist for the swine department, and manages large animal laboratory samples including bacteriology.


Susan Morton Susan Morton

Susan is an experienced veterinary assistant supporting the companion animal and greyhoud veterinarians. Susan joined AAHPA in 1994 as a receptionist and has expanded her skills from there.  Her special interests include canine reproduction and client education on a wealth of topics as well as assisting in both small animal examination and treatment/surgery. She is also invaluable as the person who follows up our postoperative cases.  Susan serves as one of our main contacts and coordinator for our high school job shadowing program.


Joyce Webb Joyce Webb

Joyce has a special interest in horses and is the primary large animal veterinary assistant. She manages the equine and bovine treatment and care facilities. Joyce and her husband own both cattle and horses, giving her hands-on experience and knowledge at the level of producer which allows her to address client issues with an understanding of their farm management concerns.


Dianna Pedersen Dianna Pedersen

Dianna has 10 years of experience as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. She joined the Abilene Animal Hospital staff with previous experience in the human medical field and transitioned to veterinary medicine with ease! Dianna is always ready with a smile and to help you with your companion animal needs.


Dawn Gabel Dawn Gabel

Dawn joined our staff in 2002 as a part-time kennel manager and quickly became a full-time asset to our hospital team. Dawn is an important part of our companion animal team as she provides pre-operative, surgical and anesthetic assistance.  In addition to this, her responsibilities include acting as kennel manager, coordinating the scheduling of our part-time staff members and working with law enforcement for the placement of the strays.


Brandi Allen Brandi Allen

Brandi started with AAH as a volunteer while attending undergraduate courses at KSU-Salina. She accepted a part-time position as receptionist and assistant office manager prior to completing her college degree. She has a BS from KSU in animal science and joined our full time AAH team as an assistant office manager in 2006. In addition to her management duties she is also responsible for assisting Gale with our Abilene VetMeds program and reception.


Whitney Gilbert, CVT Whitney Gilbert, CVT

Whitney Gilbert  joined the AAH staff in 2004 as part time kennel staff while she was in high school.  In 2009 she received her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from Colby Community College. She rejoined our staff in 2011 as a full time veterinary techncian. In addition to her responsibilities as anesthetic technican and companion animal technican , Whitney is also our "go to girl" for pet food orders.
